As part of our expansion and continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and dynamic Business Group Manager for Workshop Operations to oversee our Mining Equipment Group Workshops.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and strategic leader to manage and lead our Mining Group Workshops. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in workshop management, strategic decision-making, and team leadership in the mining industry. In this role, you will drive continuous improvement, manage financial performance, ensure safety compliance, and lead a high-performing team to achieve business objectives. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong leadership capabilities to influence and optimize operational performance across multiple workshop facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and provide strategic direction to the Mining Equipment Group Workshops, aligning operations with the company's broader objectives.

  • Work closely with the General Manager, providing operational management and decision-making support.

  • Oversee workshop operations to ensure optimal productivity, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to quality standards.

  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and high performance across all workshops.

  • Manage financial performance, including budgeting, resource allocation, and cost control.

  • Develop and execute long-term strategies to meet operational and financial goals.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and industry regulations.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients and suppliers.

  • Lead the recruitment, training, and development of workshop teams to maintain a highly skilled workforce.

  • Manage risks and implement business continuity planning to safeguard operations.

About You

Qualifications:

Advanced Diploma or Degree in Engineering
Business Management Qualification (Mining Diploma level) Highly Desirable

Experience & Skills:


Minimum 7-10 years of management experience in workshop or manufacturing environments with a proven ability to lead and manage teams in high-pressure, operational settings.

Strong financial literacy, with experience managing budgets, forecasting financial performance, and optimizing resource utilization.

Experience working cross-functionally with teams such as HR, finance, and operations to deliver business objectives.

Familiarity with industry regulations and risk management processes.

A minimum of 12 months of mining experience either on a mining site or working for a mining supply company.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.

Strong analytical and decision-making skills, able to interpret data and drive continuous operational improvements.

Proficient in business systems (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems) to support operational and financial functions.
